HFLS’s business training program for Haredi women (the “Women’s Course”) provides core business training that positions Haredi women to successfully launch or expand small businesses and help their families achieve economic self-security.
HFLS’s intensive and highly interactive 12-week, 48-hour Women’s Course uses the Kauffman Foundation’s Operation Jumpstart microenterprise curriculum and cutting-edge adult education techniques. The Women’s Course teaches participants “hard” business skills, such as conducting market research, setting financial goals, projecting cash flow, and creating a business plan, as well as “soft” skills that are especially critical for women, e.g., the self-confidence to price for profitability and negotiate with vendors.
The Women’s Course takes place in Williamsburg in the fall and in Borough Park in the spring. It meets one day per week from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm over the course of 12 weeks. For more information about the Women’s Course, please contact HFLS Director of Entrepreneurship Education Tiffany Goldberg at firstname.lastname@example.org or (212) 687-0188.
