Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine is teaming up with the Hebrew Free Loan Society (HFLS) to make up to $2 million in loans to lower-income small business owners between now and February 2023.
HFLS is a nonprofit lender that has been making interest-free loans to New Yorkers since 1892. Our loans make an immediate, concrete difference in the lives of borrowers, enabling them to launch or expand a business without the burden of interest. HFLS is non-sectarian; we were founded by members of New York’s Jewish community to serve as an enduring resource for lower-income New Yorkers of all backgrounds.
