If you are having trouble logging in to the HFLS Portal, please DO NOT create a new account.

Instead, please email [email protected] and include your full name, the email address associated with your HFLS Portal account, and a brief description of the issue you are experiencing.

If your application is missing an ID-Pal verification, Plaid authorization, or proposed guarantor information, first log in to your HFLS portal account. Once logged in, the Portal will display an Action Required notification in the top-right corner of the screen.

Click Verify ID to complete your ID-Pal verification, Verify Account to complete your Plaid authorization and/or Add Guarantor to assign a guarantor to your application.

For more information about Plaid and ID-Pal, including what they are and why HFLS uses them, please click here for Plaid and here for ID-Pal.

If you have followed the instructions above and are still having trouble submitting Plaid authorization, ID-Pal verification, or adding a guarantor, please email [email protected] for assistance.

If you are already working with a Loan Officer:
Your Loan Officer will let you know if your guarantor is ineligible and explain why. Log in to your HFLS Portal account; once the Loan Officer has inactivated your ineligible guarantor, you will see an Action Required notification in the top-right corner of the screen. Click Add Guarantor to assign a new guarantor to your application.

If you have not yet been assigned a Loan Officer:
Please email [email protected] to let us know that you would like to replace your guarantor. An HFLS staff member will inactivate your proposed guarantor and notify you when you can log in to your HFLS Portal account to add a new one. Once logged in, the Portal will display an Action Required notification in the top-right corner of the screen. Click Add Guarantor to assign your new guarantor to the application.

Please note: After you add a new guarantor, they must complete the online Guarantor Form, including ID-Pal identity verification, before HFLS can begin reviewing your application.

An “Incomplete” status means that one or more required items have not yet been completed. Click on My Applications in the HFLS Portal to view any outstanding requirements.

Common outstanding items may include:

  • Spouse/partner credit authorization (if applicable).
  • Completion of the online Guarantor Form and/or ID-Pal verification by your proposed guarantor(s).

Before contacting HFLS, please confirm with your spouse/partner and/or guarantor(s) that they have completed any outstanding requirements. If they cannot find the HFLS email, please ask them to check their spam or junk folder before contacting HFLS.

No. Once your application has been submitted, you can use the HFLS Portal to track its status and see whether any additional information or documentation is required.

Please do not submit a second application unless an HFLS staff member instructs you to do so. Submitting multiple applications may delay the review process.

When your application is complete, a Loan Officer will begin reviewing it as soon as possible. Due to the high volume of applications received, we ask that you do not contact HFLS to ask about the status of your application. Instead, please check the HFLS Portal for updates.

Please note that any changes to this information must be submitted at least four business days prior to your next scheduled payment date. If your request is submitted less than four business days prior to your next payment date, HFLS will not be able to accommodate your request until the following month.

Below are step-by-step instructions for requesting a modification to your loan:

  1. Click here to login to the HFLS Portal.
  2. Click My Loans and select your loan record (identified by “RPMT” followed by a unique seven-digit number).
  3. Open the Modifications tab and click Request New Modification to complete and submit the request form.

HFLS will review your request within two business days. If your request is approved, you will receive an email confirming the modification. If your request is denied, you will receive an email explaining the reason for the decision.

If you have followed the instructions above and are still having trouble submitting a loan modification request, please email [email protected] for assistance.

HFLS accepts payments via Zelle if you need to make up a missed or failed payment, or would like to make an additional payment toward your loan.

Please note: a payment made via Zelle does not replace your regular monthly payment. Your monthly payment will still be automatically withdrawn from your account as scheduled.

To make a Zelle payment, open your banking app and use Zelle to send a payment using the phone number 332-260-1915 or the email [email protected]. You can also scan the QR code on our Zelle page to send your payment.

We’ll review your payment once it’s received and update your account accordingly.

If you think your recent HFLS ACH payment may have failed, please wait until the failed payment appears in your checking account before making a Zelle payment; this may take up to five business days. This will ensure you do not mistakenly pay twice in one month and end up with a lower checking account balance than you expected.

If you have followed the instructions above and are still having trouble submitting a Zelle payment, please email [email protected] for assistance.

HFLS typically permits a household to have only one loan outstanding at a time. You or someone in your household may apply for a new loan while still repaying a prior loan (a “top off loan”) only if all of the following conditions are met:

  • You have repaid at least 40% of your current outstanding loan.

  • You have a good payment history on your current outstanding loan (you have not failed multiple payments or requested multiple payment reductions).

  • The balance on your outstanding loan plus your new loan request amount may not exceed the program’s maximum loan amount.

    • For example: If you are applying for a new General Needs Loan, your outstanding loan balance plus the requested new loan amount may not total more than the General Needs Loan maximum of $9,000.

  • After receiving one “top off” loan, you must fully repay BOTH outstanding loans before you are able to take a new loan.

If your loan request does not meet ALL of the criteria above, HFLS CANNOT approve it.

If you meet all of the conditions above, you still must complete a new application for the second loan. Click here to view a list of all HFLS loan programs, click on the program that meets your needs, and scroll to the bottom of the page for the program’s application link.
