HOW OUR HFLS JOURNEY BEGAN

“I have twins named Nicholas and Julian. They are are both twice-exceptional, which means that they are highly gifted in some areas, but they also have learning disabilities. They just weren’t thriving in mainstream schools.

We came across a private school that specializes in working with twice-exceptional children: it challenges them academically while teaching them to manage their behavior. I placed them in this school and sought reimbursement from the Department of Education for their tuition. The only problem was that we had to pay all of the tuition up front — which we definitely couldn’t afford to do on our own.

HOW OUR LIVES IMPROVED

I found the Hebrew Free Loan Society, and I felt like my prayers were answered. They lent me the amount of money I owed the school for the twins’ tuition, and the Department of Education will pay back the loan. I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders.

My children are thriving in their new school, and I am so grateful to the Hebrew Free Loan Society for making that possible.”
